William “Bill” Cathey, Jr. passed away on February 25, 2021 at his home in Lake Rosemound in St. Francisville, Louisiana at the age of 76. He was a Baton Rouge native that was an operator at Ethyl Corporation for 19 years, then owner of Grand Impressions Screen Printing. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1963 and attended LSU. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Cathey, Sr. and Mary Agnes Jones Cathey; infant brother, Charles Edwin Cathey; sister, Wanda Lee Terry; mother in-law, Betty Gilmore Russell; and father in-law, Jack Gilmore. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sherry Gilmore Cathey; sons, Chris (Valerie) of St. Francisville and Dale (Catherine) of Sharpsburg, GA; six grandchildren, Madison of Statesboro, GA, Aidan and Will of Prairieville, LA, Garrett and Paige of Sharpsburg, GA, Ava Belle of St. Francisville; sister and brother in-law, Jackie and Ted Braud of Baton Rouge; and three nieces and three nephews. His family would like to thank his caring physician Dr. Gerald Barber and Hospice of BR for their compassionate care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Baton Rouge. Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 10:00 a.m. The service will be officiated by The Reverend G. Nelson Tennison.
