58, a long time resident of Baton Rouge died peacefully in her sleep on December 28, 2011. Stephanie was born in Baton Rouge, LA and was the youngest of three sisters, and one brother. She was known to her siblings by her nickname, “Bim”. She was a graduate of Istrouma High School in 1971 and a graduate of LSU Nursing School. Working in Labor/Delivery, Cardiac, ER and GI. An avid LSU Tiger fan and LSU alumni she was a true southern belle. Stephanie spent over 30 years as a dedicated registered skilled nurse in the Baton Rouge, San Francisco and Albuquerque areas. She was a certified massage therapist as well. Her interest included entertaining family, friends, gardening and caring for her cats, Rosemary and Zoe. Stephanie devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to children, patients, family and friends. Although, Stephanie’s body became frail this past year, her strong faith, courage and strength has been an inspiration to all of her family and friends that loved her. She had hopes of returning to nursing. Stephanie believed the quality of existence, in giving and caring for family, friends and animals far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Stephanie is survived by two sisters, Patsy Haley, Jackie Haley Littlefield, both of Baton Rouge, LA, one brother, John A. Haley, Jr., Biloxi, Mississippi, three nephews Troy Hugh and Clint Carson Scott, and Jamie Walker of Baton Rouge, one niece, Bobbie Sue Garcia of Denver, Colorado, three grate nieces, Haley Walker, Ava Garcia and Erin Regan Scott, whom she delivered as a nurse, two great nephews, Max Cortes and Justin Walker Cannon. Stephanie is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Haley and her father, John A. Haley of Baton Rouge, LA and a sister Sandra Gale Williams. The family would like to extend a special thanks to caring friends for their prayers and support, a very special thank you to her devoted best friend, Pam Boyer, Dr. Julie Farrar of Albuquerque, NM and her current doctors in Baton Rouge. Stephanie had a tremendous personality and although there is a void in our hearts, the light of our lives will be in heaven caring for the angles.
