Sheffield Clarke Spring Jr. passed away at his home in Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. He was the son of Sheffield Clarke Spring and Joanna Peschier Spring Champagne. He was born on December 13, 1942 in Lafayette, LA. He was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and Louisiana State University where he achieved a degree in Business Administration. He was founder and president of Capitol Companies. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Baton Rouge Country Club, and past member of the Charity Ball Association. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Kate Spring Valluzzo and husband Timothy Charles Valluzzo of Mt Pleasant, SC.; sons, Ladd Clarke Spring, Davin Oliver Spring, Mark Bowden Spring and wife Kristen Morgan Spring. He had twelve grandchildren: Mellody Kate Valluzzo, Charles Locke Valluzzo, II, Caroline Kate Valluzzo, Virginia Kate Valluzzo; Anna Kate Spring; Sadie Kate Spring, Garret Gordon Spring, Hollis Anne Spring; Mark Bowden Spring, Jr., Kent Sheffield Spring, John Morgan Spring and Charlotte Kate Spring; sister, Dianna Spring Marks of New Orleans, LA; brother, Richard Hansford Spring and wife Debbi Spring of Greenback, TN. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Mary Kate Oliver Spring and his father, Sheffield Clarke Spring. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, La. Friday, October 18, from 5:00 "“ 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 19 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Graveside Rites to follow at Resthaven Gardens, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, La. The children express their sincere appreciation to Joyce Nell Lovett for 45 years of love and commitment to their families. Also, the family wishes to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge nurse, Jill Rehn and caregivers, Willie Mikell, Rivers Livous, Leo Zeno and Irina Asnes. Pallbearers will be: Lance D' Armond, Lee Herrington, Jimmy Oliver, Harry Sherburne, Marvin Smith, Charles Valluzzo, II, and Timothy Valluzzo.
