Doctor Sharon Cecile Davis Phillips Faulk “Meemaws” was born on January 23, 1947, as twin A in Fort Worth, TX. She suffered from Leukemia and heart disease, and passed away Monday, November 4, 2024, at the age of 77, surrounded by family. Sharon graduated from Broadmoor HS in 1964. She attended LSU and received a B.S. in secondary education with a minor in chemistry and physics, and M.S. in zoology, with a Doctorate in Divinity. She was a member of Beta Iota Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Sharon taught chemistry and physics at: South Cameron HS, Scotlandville HS, Belaire HS, and Glen Oaks HS. Sharon was an active member of NSTA, LAE, and LRTA. Sharon was an active leader for B.S.A. She guided two grandchildren to Eagle Scout and her granddaughter was a Girl Scout. Sharon was active in many historical, genealogical societies: Past Regent of Heirome Gaines Chapter L.S.D.A.R., Senior Society President for L.S.C.A.R., Past Chapter President of General Robert McCausland U.S. D. 1812, Feliciana of C.D. of the XVII Century, Zuber Hadley D.R.T., Louisiana Magna Charta Dames and Barons, and Ancient and Honorable Artillery. Meemaws was a devout Catholic and loved her cats. Her patron is St. Bridget of Ireland. She will always be remembered as twin A. Her favorite sentence was TTFN and Bye Toots. Mourning her death are her children, John Joseph Faulk, Joy Elizabeth Faulk, and Samantha P. Cherry (Brian A.); grandchildren, Brandon A. Cherry (Lauren), Johnathan Faulk, Jonah Faulk, Brittany P. Cherry, and Zachary Mellinger; identical twin sister, Sandra Denise Davis; sister, Martha Austin Davis Johnson (Paul); brother, Daniel DeLesseps Davis; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, J.E. Faulk; parents, Lonnie Austin Davis, Sr. and Millegene Biggers Davis; brother, Lonnie Austin Davis, Jr.; and grandparents James Austin Davis and Martha Tad Meaux, and Mille White Biggers and Eugenia Allen Biggers. Sharon's family would like you to attend her visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm. Visitation will resume at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, November 8, from 9am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Joseph Eldridge Faulk. Please come for a celebration of Sharon's Life.
