Ruth Audrey Foster Schilling

Pete’s “right hand” is by his side again, in Heaven. Ruth Audrey Foster Schilling passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the age of 91. She was born on July 28, 1931. Audrey was benevolent & caring throughout her life. Her strong will & her detail oriented way acquired in years as a legal clerk, served her daughter & son well by instilling in them creeds of honor, honesty, tenacity, work ethics, volunteerism & generosity. She is survived by her children, Janet Schilling and her husband, Steve Chester, and David Schilling and his wife, Allison; Maw Maw Audrey’s grandchildren, Kyle, Katelyn and her husband, Miguel, and Meghan; great-grandchildren, Preston, Cecilia, and Ryley; and other family members. Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, D.E. “Pete” Schilling; grandson, Andrew Chester; parents, Albert “Tooter” Conrad Foster and Ollie Mary Soileau Foster; and brother, Charles. A graveside service will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 10:30am. Burial will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baton Rouge Eye Bank. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Baton Rouge for their care and support of Audrey and the family. Mom had a wonderful care team.
