Ruby Ophelia Lantz (Wales) passed away on January 16, 2023, at 3:15 pm. She was 89. A native of Strong, Arkansas, Ruby was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Loving wife to Robert Henry Lantz. Sister to Ann Taylor (Wales) and George “Buddy” Wales. Ruby enjoyed metal detecting and spent many hours finding and caring for treasures with her beloved husband. She loved LSU football as well as the Saints. If either team were playing, you could find her watching football in her comfortable chair. A lifelong member of Maranatha Church of God, she loved serving the Lord alongside the women in her church. Ruby loved being with friends, visiting and talking over a good breakfast at IHOP. She will be missed by many, but she will always be in our hearts. Ruby was the loving mother of 4 children, Rhonda and her husband David Edwards of Tickfaw, Louisiana, Ronald Lantz of Baton Rouge, Ralph Lantz of Port Aransas,Texas, Reid and his wife Tanya Lantz of Gig Harbor, Washington. She was grandmother to Christopher Boudreaux, Shannon Trahan (Boudreaux), Nicholas Lantz, Taylor Davis, Leslie Castor, Rowan Lantz, and Samuel Lantz, and great-grandmother to 8. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and George Wales Sr., her brother, George “Buddy” Wales, as well as her husband, Robert Henry Lantz.
