Rick Richard

Rick Thomas Richard ("Rick", "Poppy")Rick Richard, age 67, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his home in Baton Rouge surrounded by his family.   Rick was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.  Rick was born on June 9th to the late Marjorie Mathis and Joseph E. Richard.   Rick graduated from Baton Rouge High School, and after serving in the Army, graduated from LSU with a degree in construction management.  Rick is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cathy Richard; his three children: Courtenay Richard-Beyer (Brooke), Payton Richard-Smith (David), and Raegen Richard (Anne); his two sisters: June Karlton (Howard) and Martha Richard Chauvin (James); his brother Van Richard (Debbie); his brother-in-law Stephen Adams (Laura); his stepmother Nena Richard; his five nieces: Stephanie Laquerre (Chris), Marjorie Torres (Ryan), Megan Lofland (Jeremy), Maddy Inzenga, and Caroline Adams; his five nephews: Richard Abshire, Evan Richard, Ryan Richard, Michael Adams, and Matthew Adams; and his two grandchildren: Catherine Beyer and Weston Richard.   In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Billie Jo Abshire.  Visitation will be held this Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from noon until the Memorial Service at 2pm conducted by the Reverend David Chisham at First Christian Church (8484 Old Hammond Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70809).  The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice for their tender care and support.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Companion Animal Alliance of Baton Rouge or St. Josephs Hospice Baton Rouge.
