"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13. Rhonda Strickland Brown, born February 16, 1955, transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on September 25, 2021. She attended grade school at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Baton Rouge. She truly enjoyed her high school years at Redemptorist High School in Baton Rouge, graduating class of '73. She retired after 24 years of state service which included 15 years with Louisiana State Police. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She never missed a school function or event for her family. She loved cooking and her door was always open. She was affectionately known to everyone as "Nanny Rhonda". At the end of her life, her heart may have been weak, but she had a heart of gold. She was survived by her husband, Dennis Brown, sisters, Brenda Strickland Brown, Mary Strickland Miley (Randy), sisters-in-law, Sharon Cox (Richard), Donna Cleary (Chris), Anita Chenier, daughter, April Patt Brown (Paul), son, Troy Patt, step-children, Amy Brown, Christian Brown, Karyn Brown Murphy (Richard), three grandchildren, Zoe Kate and Grayson Patt, Avery Claire McNemar, four step-grandchildren, Cameron Brown, James and Hope Hossenlopp, Kyra Murphy, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynell and Laura Strickland, mother-in-law, Elaine Brown, and sister, Diane Strickland Shreve. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, September 30, from 5-8 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, October 1, at 11 am until noon with Mass to follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Ln., Denham Springs, LA. Burial to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be Troy Patt, Paul Brown, Richard Murphy, Randy Miley, Jonathan Shreve, and Griffin Heil. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Live Oak High School in Watson.
