"Raymond Paul Landry, Sr., died peacefully entering into eternal life on November 28, 2016, at the age of 77. Born in White Castle, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oneil Landry and Agnes LeBlanc Landry. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Laura Linda Peltier Landry, and his children, Kelly Johnson and husband Tim, Raymond Landry, Jr., and Laura Linda Landry and friend Sterling and his grandchildren; Hillary, Peyton, and Nicholas Johnson, Jack and Grace Topper; his siblings Douglas Landry and wife Carole, O.J. and wife Carol T, Darlene Landry and friend Franchelle, Pam Davis and husband Scott. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends. After high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. After his service, he earned an accounting degree from L.S.U. and received his CPA. He began his career with Arthur Anderson at the New Orleans office. His expertise' was utilized in other endeavors, including, building industry in Hilton Head, SC., working in the oil industry in Houston, TX, and the food industry in Lafayette, LA, and Gulfport, MS. He was a part owner and an executive with Tidel, a technology company in Dallas, TX. He made friends and helped others along the way. After retirement he continued to consult and serve on numerous financial boards throughout the country. He was an active member of St Gabriel Catholic Church, where he chaired the Finance Committee. He was a lector and daily mass attendee. He was active in the St. Gabriel Prison Ministry and Small Faith Community. He was a Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 30 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Thursday, December 1 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A mass of Christian burial will follow on December 1 at 11:00 am. Burial in St. Gabriel Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to St. Gabriel Catholic Church Memory Garden at 3625 LA Hwy 75, St. Gabriel, LA 70776. Those who knew Raymond and experienced his patience, compassion, and love of life valued his mantra of helping someone who needed assistance each and every day of his life. His influence will live on in the lives of others.
