Peggy Gebhart

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023, at the age of 94. Born October 2,1928 in Paducah, Kentucky, she was the only child of Cloys Cody Nall and Mildred Jackson Nall. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis Gebhart, and her son Patrick Gebhart. She moved to Baton Rouge upon marrying the love of her life. Louis and Peggy spent 64 loving years together and are now at their eternal home together. Peggy was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling through Europe and Canada. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially events with her children and grandchildren. Peggy is survived by her son Michael Gebhart (Lurline) and daughter Kathryn Serwan (Randy); five grandchildren, Joseph Gebhart (Azeen), Brian Gebhart, Christopher Gebhart (Ashley), Dr. Jennifer Salem (Omar), and Ashley Ezell (Jordan); and two great-grandchildren, Audrey Gebhart and Charlotte Ezell. She will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at Green Oaks Mausoleum.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to her caregivers who devotedly cared for our mother for the last 10 years: Kirby, Stephanie, Alice, Leslie, and Kay. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to one of our mom’s favorite charities: Wounded Warrior, St. Vincent DePaul, and the Baton Rouge Food Bank.
