Paul Clinton Sipe Jr. resident of Baton Rouge LA passed away on February 10, 2017, At home at the age of 88. He was born in Oak Park, IL on April 16, 1928. Paul volunteered and trained in the Navy at age 15½: was honorably discharged as a minor without consent when his grandfather caught up with him in Norman, OK 1943. Then he was drafted into the Army in 1950 and served 2 tours in the Korean War. His first tour in communications; 2nd tour was organizing a band to entertain the officers and troops.
Paul and Yvonne met in Belize while serving in the Peace Corps and were married Jan 4, 1992 at the Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, AR .They lived near Elkport, IA in a home that Paul built along with other buildings on the land. He and his partner Gordon Allen had developed and had a patent (#US35004503) for underground tape that marked electric, gas and telephone lines. Paul was a construction operator who owned his own company. He also built a sailboat and dreamed of sailing around the world. Paul and Yvonne had just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Paul was preceded in death by, Ivy Boudreaux (brother-in-law) Paul Clancey Sipe (half-brother), Randy Boudreaux (nephew) Robert Sipe (cousin) Joshua Hampton (Step-grandson)
He is survived by, Wife: Yvonne Joyce Sipe (Fabro), Sister: Nancy Lee Boudreaux, CO Springs, Daughters: Carol (David) Pileggi, Jerusalem, Israel Leslie (Andrew) Gibbons, Elkport IA Sons: Stephen (Catherine) Sipe, Marion, IL, David (Amy) Sipe, Marion, IL,Dr.Greg Payne,JoAnne Payne,(Wife),Dr.Thomas Payne, Darla Payne (Wife) daughters Julia Payne, Larry Maggio(Son in law),Tracie Payne,Mark Schmidt (Son in law)
He is survived by numerous step-children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces and many dear friends – too many to count!

Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church,7125 Goodwood Ave, BR Friday, February 24th 11:00am (viewing 10:00am at church)Burial at Louisiana National Cemetery ( Zackery) with full military honors
