"Kitty, age 86, passed away on October 23, 2016. She was born on August 1, 1930 in Amory, MS. She was a long time resident of Baton Rouge, LA where she earned a Masters Degree in Social Welfare at LSU. Kitty earned her under graduate degree at Mississippi State where she met her first husband, Hilliard E. Chesteen, Jr. She was a Mississippi State Bulldog football fan until the end. Kitty is survived by her sister, Sara Tubb, and brother-in-law Gene Goodwin of Norfolk, VA. She is also survived by her four children: Diane Chesteen O'Connor and husband Bland; Denise Chesteen Wranischar and husband Gerald of The Woodlands, TX; Hilliard Edmond Chesteen III and wife Elizabeth; and Delisa Chesteen Norrell and husband Frank of Colorado Springs, CO. Kitty leaves to honor her memory to her loving grandchildren: Colleen O'Connor Wilbert and husband Jacob; Hugh Bland "Trey" O'Connor III and wife Esther Lee; Katherine "Kaki" O'Connor Lowe and husband Brad; and Erin O'Connor; Chad Cunningham and Chris Cunningham of Los Angeles, CA; Hilliard Edmond Chesteen IV, Hudson Thomas Chesteen; Jonathan Norrell of Oglesby, IL, Vail Norrell and Grant Norrell of Colorado Springs, CO. And special to her heart were her precious great grandchildren: Gabrielle Colleen Wilbert, Elizabeth Grace Wilbert, and Matthew Bradley "Beau" Lowe, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents Talmage Brice Tubb and Sara Thomas Gilbert Tubb, her sister Eleanor Tubb McQuirter and husband Mac, sister Carolyn Tubb Goodwin, and granddaughter Brooke Lynn Norrell. Pallbearers are Hilliard Edmond Chesteen IV, Hudson Thomas Chesteen, Trey O'Connor, Grant Norrell, and Jonathan Norrell. Honorary pallbearer is Gene Goodwin. Special thanks to her kind caregiver of many years Kris Pettigrew and to Hospice of Baton Rouge and their Butterfly Wing. Services will be held at First Christian Church at 8484 Old Hammond Hwy. conducted by Rev. Dr. David Chisham on Tuesday, October 25th with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. and services at 10 a.m. Internment at Greeoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd. Memorial contributions may be made to Ovarian Cancer Foundation at www.ocrfa.org or to www.RecycledPomeranians.com.
