Mark Jason Brown, 51 years old, was born in Baton Rouge, LA, and was a resident of Prairieville. He died on April 18, 2023. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and LSU in Baton Rouge. Jason had a talent for writing and drawing and was previously employed at Tiger Rag and Moran Printing in Baton Rouge. He loved dogs and started to love cats. He is survived by his daughter, Madison Ann Brown of Prairieville; mother and stepfather, JoAnn V. Doucet and David Kim Doucet of Prairieville; father and stepmother, Mark and Jeanette “Pie” Brown; sister, Jennifer (George) Popov; brothers, Ken (Lauren) Albarez and Brian (Jeanne) Albarez; five nieces: Claire Popov, Holly (Johnny) Meliet, Madison (Peyton) Gallop, Alexandria Knight, and Meghan Albarez; four nephews: Aleksander, Andersen and Nikolas Popov, and Mathew (Christine) Martinez; 2 great-nieces, and 1 great nephew. He is also survived by aunts: Paula Anderson of Prairieville, Brenda Roberts and Debra Velek of Alexandria, and Charlotte Pazon of Slidell; step-aunt, Lisa Holcombe of Baton Rouge; and step-uncles: John Lenard and Kevin Doucet, both of Texas. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Velek; maternal grandmother, Margaret Velek; aunt, Barbara Piazza; and uncle, Joey Velek.
