Marguaritte Earlene Taylor, the Taylor Matriarch, went to Glory on January 5, 2023 after she was called home by our Lord and Savior. Earlene was born on November 26, 1936 in Columbia, Louisiana and grew up in Clayton with her parents: Earl and Maggie Dollar (both decd.), brothers: F.O. (decd.), Earl Lee (decd.), and David Dollar and little sister: Udolie Roberts Williamson. Earlene attended Northeastern University and won the heart of a young man named Charles Taylor (surviving). The two married in a dramatic escape across the state line into Mississippi with the fear of her mother and johnny law on their tails. It is a love story that burns hotter than any skillet she ever cooked upon. Sixty-eight years of wonderful marriage, a retirement from LSU, and an uncountable amount of French toast, chocolate pies and banana pudding fed her mess of youngsters. Two sons: Ronald Dane with wife Inetta, and Joseph Dale (Joey) with wife Shannon. Four grandsons: Ross with wife Emily, Lee with wife Jill, Dillon Jackson with wife Hailey, and Dustin Taylor. One granddaughter: Meghan Galloway. Two great grandsons: Henry and Hudson. Three great granddaughters: Joey, Mia, and Hayden. She was a woman of strong Christian faith. Earlene and Charles are founding members of Fellowship Baptist Church. Her joyful life was filled with endless cups of coffee with friends and family, a table covered in dominos and cards, and an immaculate clean floor. Come join us in celebrating her life on Friday, January 13th at Fellowship Baptist Church: 14512 Greenwell Springs Rd, Greenwell Springs, LA 70739. Visitation starts at 10:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge afterwards. Flowers may be sent to Fellowship Baptist Church or you can help someone that might need a little light in their life. Just let them know that Jesus and Mimi love them.
