A native of Kosciusko, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge from 1926 to 2007, she died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010. She was 85. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert Van Gwin and Carrie Ballard Gwin; and siblings, Robert Gwin, Mary Catherine Gwin Aucoin, Elise Gwin Friley and Evelyn Gwin Martin. She is survived by a daughter, Cathryn Lea Gaur; son, David Robert Chapman; four grandchildren, Andrea Aucoin Miranda, Kevin Chapman, Jonathan Gaur and Courtney Chapman; and great grandchildren, Savannah Richard, Taylor Richard and Landon Richard. She is also survived by a niece, Ann Aucoin Morris; and nephew, Douglas Aucoin. She attended Istrouma High School. She was employed and became owner of Collier Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Executive Secretaries of America, a former member of the Chamber of Commerce of Baton Rouge and member of the City Club.
