Lois was a loving person with a side of spice. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but especially enjoyed and loved her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her devoted, and loving soulmate of 71 years, Levon Whitehead, Sr.; three children, Roxie Hotard, Tammy Newsom, and Sandra Whitehead; six grandchildren, Ryan Hotard (Stephanie), Cody Hotard (Sherrie), Acy Newsom (Miranda), Jesse Meyer (Aaron), Dusty Newsom (Amelia Adams), and Taylor Whitehead; six great-grandchildren, Layla and Tory Hotard, Sade and Nixon Meyer, and Preston and Grace Newsom; two brothers, Allen “Bubba” and Gerald Mayers; and numerous niece and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ethel Blackwell Mayers; son, Levon Whitehead, Jr.; one sister; and two brothers.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 9 am until graveside service at 12 noon. The family would like to thank Bridgeway for their love and support.
