Deaconess Lee was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Curtis and Mary Marion Ducree on February 7, 1958. She is a graduate of McDonogh 35 Senior High School in New Orleans, La. She furthered her education by receiving an Associate’s Degree from Delgado Community College in American Sign Language (ASL). She married Rev. George E. Lee, Jr. on June 6, 1994. She worked as a devoted Manager for the United States Postal Service for 30 years.
Deaconess Lee is preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Mary Marion Ducree, a sister Janice Williams, a brother Leonard Ducree, a mother-in-law Bessie Lee, a brother-in-law Ray Williams, a sister-in-law Cheryl Thomas, and a grandson Pierre Smith.
Deaconess Lee is survived by her husband, Rev. George E. Lee, Jr.; two sons Ryan Glass (Baton Rouge) and Darwin Lee (New Orleans); two daughters Calina (Teddy) Young and Tammara (Antoine) Kelly both of Algiers; five grandchildren Aaliiah Glass, Joshua Kelly, Bryan Isom, Bethany Kelly, and Tristan Lee; two brothers Edward Ducree (Belleville, Illinois) and Dennis (Amy) Ducree of Lacombe; two sisters Janet (Joseph) Anthony of Baton Rouge and Brenda (Alex) Berkley of Gretna; two sisters-in-law Linda Lee and Adriene Johnson both of New Orleans and two brothers-in-law Rev. Joseph (Andrea) Lee of New Orleans and Michael (Floray) Lee of Katy, TX. Deaconess Lee also leaves a host of nieces and nephews left to cherish her memories.
Friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815 Monday, January 4, 2021, from 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. Funeral services will proceed at Greenoaks Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
