L. LeRoy Sibley, 85, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Denham Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. LeRoy was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and a member of Istrouma Lodge 414 and Denham Springs Lodge 297. LeRoy also was a member of the Shriners International Organization. LeRoy enjoyed fly-fishing, hunting, flying airplanes and cutting his grass. He traveled all over the United Sates with his job as a construction engineer and retired from Rust Engineering. LeRoy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Lois Sibley; children, Kenneth W. Sibley and wife Janyce, and Donna Kuykendall and husband Kenny; grandchildren, Traci Sibley, Brian Sibley, Kevin Sibley, Christine Cumberledge, Dr. Aimee Graham and Capt. Matthew Belle; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel and Lessie Sibley; son, Greg Belle; siblings, Flossie Sibley, Marie Booker, Elvin Sibley, Lawrence Sibley, James Sibley, Ellen Smith and Walter Brown; and granddaughter, Cheyanna Sibley. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Thursday, July 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continues Friday, July 30, from 8 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The Rev. Willis Curtis will be presiding over the services. Pallbearers will be Matthew Belle, Michael Silvio, Billy Robertson, Kenny Kuykendall, Jack Legleu and Lee Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Bonano, Bobby Vidrine, Rufus Price, Pete Legleu, Stanley Legleu and Kenneth Legleu. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in LeRoy's honor to Life Source Hospice Services of Baton Rouge, 3049 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70816 or a charity of your choice.
