Lee Roy Davis, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on December 12 at the age of 69. A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Lee graduated from Baker High School and then attended JATC apprenticeship school where he became a journeyman wireman. He was a member of IBEW Local Union 995 where he served for 42 years before retiring. After working on the road for many years, Lee began working for the Baton Rouge City-Parish (DPW Building Maintenance). He was known as a practical joker as he was frequently seen playing jokes on his co-workers in many of the buildings downtown as well as the parish prison. He retired from the City-Parish in 2017 after 28 years of service. Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy, Sr. and Lois Davis. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Davis; daughters Wendy Milam (Brandon) and Dana Ware (Joey); grandchildren, Madisan Milam, Alaina Milam, Gabrielle Chenier, Olivia Chenier, and Cullen Ware; sisters Linda Nettles and Tiffany Chaney (Brent); brother, Rickey Davis (Linda Fernandez); and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Lee’s family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Lavie, Mary Bird Cancer Center, Clarity Hospice and his caregivers who took great care of him.
