Place, Baton Rouge, La. She was born on December 16, 1930 to Mary Ernestine Bush and
Joseph Clovis Bergeron in Livonia, La.. Joyce was the 1947 valedictorian of Livonia High. She
loved 4H where she excelled. She enrolled in LSU in Medical Technology and worked in this
field in New Orleans and Baton Rouge before completing her last few classes and graduating
from LSU in 1975. In 1953 she married A. Dyer Lafleur who passed away in April 2022. She is
survived by her daughters: Susan (Rick) Parker, Carol (Dave) Goldsmith, Lucy (Burton) Landry,
Patty (David) McCubbin and Janet (Dick Kiser) Lafleur and son, John Lafleur. Joyce has 10
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren: Joseph (Elizabeth), Samuel and Hazel Parker;
Thomas (Sarah), and Warren Parker; Sarah (Wayne), Caroline, Margaret and Annie Losavio;
Will (Susan), Riley, Tyler and Evan Goldsmith; Davy (Emily) Goldsmith; Matt (Stephanie)
Landry; Alison (Ryan), Michael and Lydia Luck, Martha Landry (Ben Bailey); Tricia (Blake), Joy
and Maddie Durham; and Becca McCubbin. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Clovis,
Harvey and Bush Bergeron. Joyce loved her family deeply and was a devout Catholic. She
was an accomplished artist especially in the media of oil painting, watercolor, quilting and fiber
arts.
Services will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Church Visitation starting at 9:00 am with a rosary at 9:45.
Mass begins at 10:30 followed by burial at Roselawn Cemetery.
