Josie Prestigiacomo Hearn, a native of Independence and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on November 26, 2021 at the age of 84. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and collecting antiques. She, along with her husband Doc, owned Hearn Construction Company for 37 years. Josie was currently a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church, previously a charter member of St. Andrew’s Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her devotion to family and her faith. She is proceeded in death by husband John Doc Hearn to whom she was married for 62 years; parents Giovanni Baptiste and Concetta Laciura Prestigiacomo; siblings Gasper, John, and Virginia Dyess Prestigiacomo. Survived by children Cindy Decker (Dennis), John Brooks (Sonia), and Barbra West; grandchildren Lindsay Faulk Terry (David), Jamie Faulk Mooney, and Evelyn West; great-grandchildren Blaire Mooney, James and Charlotte Terry; sister, Madeline Ancona and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial to be conducted by Greenoaks Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Tuesday November 30. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until funeral services at 11 am.
