Jerry Lee Cooper, age 80, passed away on September 18, 2023. Jerry was born in Baton Rouge, LA and was a resident of Pride, LA. Jerry graduated from Glen Oaks High School in 1962 and married his lifelong sweetheart, Patricia Ritchie Cooper, one month later. He was a craftsman and project manager in the sheet metal trade after several years in the air conditioning business. He used his skills as a craftsman in service to his family and friends, always building and repairing anything anyone needed. The things that stand out most about Jerry are his love, generosity, and devotion to family.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years; his mother, Ruth Spencer; his sister Linda Cooper, his nephew Todd Reymond, and many other aunts and uncles.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Janet Shows (Jimmy), Sandra Larson (Scot); son, Darren Cooper (Brandy); brothers, Terry Cooper, Dale Cooper; grandchildren, Chase Harper, Katelyn Swink, Ashlyn Jolly, Chad Cooper, Callie Morrell, Airen Cooper, Kaylee McDonald, Cecilia, Jamie, Ariel, Clair, and Tamara Shows; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Katherine, Elijah, Ezra, Hadley, Avarie, Tinlee, Braelyn, Kylin, Wesson, Wyatt, Kendlyn, Madison, William, AnnMarie, Flynn, Harper; Dana Floyd, and many other nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 from 12pm-2pm with a funeral service to follow at 2pm. 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815
