“For you there’ll be no more crying, For you, the sun will be shining.” Jeffrey Scott Jones was born on August 26, 1964 in Ogden, Utah, to Linden LaDean Jones and Jacqueline Van Osdell. He was a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, until he entered his eternal rest on December 28, 2021 at the age of 57. He graduated from Glen Oaks High School, class of 1982, and then pursued a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Van Osdell Jones, siblings, Chris Jones, Jill Jones Flores, and Chad Jones, children, Lauren Bonaventure (Chase), Meagan Blakely (Brian), Blake Jones (Becca), and Kelsey Segraves (Jonathan), his grandchildren, whom he adored, Cameron, Colbi, Tristan, Raylen, Heidi, and Christina, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father LaDean, brother, Lyle, and grandson, William Scott as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents. A private memorial will be announced by the family at a later date. The family would like to thank his nurse, Cookie, for the care that she provided for him. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
