A loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at the age of 79. She was a fervent prayer warrior, and loving mother. She was born in Helena, Alabama and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of seven. She resided in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the remainder of her life. She met the love of her life, Tommy Rowland, at a car accident on Plank Road. They were married on December 8, 1962, and remained married until his passing on March 9, 2015. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was active in her church and was blessed with the gift of hospitality. She was the friend that would walk five miles in your shoes. She is survived by her daughters Tara Spickard and husband, Paul Spickard; Allison Jackson, and husband Jay Jackson. She is survived by her grandchildren Katie Ficquette (Nick), Paul Jacob Spickard (Alli), Timothy Spickard (Erica), Davis Lutz (Abby), Ethan Jackson (Hannah), and Emma Jackson. Also survived by her only sibling, Charles “Wayne” Davis and his wife Sharon, and their two sons Jeff Davis, and Mark Davis (Tabitha), great nephews Noah and Hutch Davis; two sisters-in-law, Glenda Fontenot (Robert), Jane Shepard (Jay), and a host of nieces and nephews. We would like to say a very special thank you to her dear friend Barbara Long who continued to show her love and friendship, even during the difficult season of dementia.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from noon until service begins at 2:00 PM, conducted by her nephew, Brother Mark Davis.
