Walter passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at the age of 70. He was a resident of Denham Springs. The world lost a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, musician, artist, friend, and soldier. He was a talented musician, playing with a number of Cajun bands through the years. He could carve a cypress knee into a beautiful work of art, and was a great outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Walter was retired from Pennington Biomedical Research Center. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Korea, and made a point to speak to, and thank every Veteran he encountered, and when thanked for his service he handed the person a card that said:

Survived by his wife of 41 years, Deborah Neely Farr, daughter, Brandi Patterson (Brian), son, Jason Giaccone (Jamie), grandchildren, Christian and Breanna Patterson, and mother, Mary Ital Farr.
Preceded in death by his father, Lawrence G. Farr, and brother, Guice Farr.
Visitation will be held June 26, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Greenoaks Funeral Home. Memorial service following visitation at the funeral home.
