Gary L. “Mann” Thompson, Jr., a native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at the age of 51. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He worked as an electrician/welder for Pilot Construction. He was a member of River Oaks Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 3 years, Lydia Thompson; daughter, Brittany Buckles and husband, Vince; grandchildren, Taylor Willson, Maddie Willson, Charlotte Buckles, and Amelia Buckles; parents, Gary L. Thompson, Sr. and Louella A. Jarreau Thompson; sister, Phoebe Sapp and husband, David; brother, Trevor Thompson; and numerous nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul M. Thompson, Sr. and Bonnie Coward Thompson, and Amelcar Jarreau and Mae Bonaventure Jarreau. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 1 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2 p.m. conducted by Pastor Buck Hughes.
