"Evelyn Williams Dixon passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 peacefully in her sleep as a result of a stroke at the age of 95 years. Evelyn was born to James and Emma Williams on January 11, 1921. She was a graduate of Istrouma High School and Baton Rouge Business College. While in high school, she met the "love of her life", Elton Elmo Dixon, and they married prior to World War II. They both spent many wonderful years traveling with friends in their Air Stream all over the country. They also maintained a "second home" in Pharr, TX, where they lived for six months a year until Elmo became ill. They enjoyed and were avid square dancers and round dancers for many wonderful years. Evelyn was active in Eastern Star for years, and loved playing dominoes with her special group until she passed away. She always enjoyed being with her family and friends and attended as many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities as she could. She loved watching all sports, especially LSU football, basketball and baseball. Evelyn was a dedicated Christian woman and was a faithful member of Bro. Scivicque's Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church in Denham Springs.
