A retired commercial artist and resident of Baton Rouge, she died Sunday, March 27, 2011, at her residence. She was 89 years young and a native of Kansas City, Mo. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Tuesday, March 29, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home resumes Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd. Mrs. Ross is survived by two sons, Arthur G. "Arty" Ross, and Vaughn R. "Bobby" Ross; three grandchildren, Ashley Ross Russell, of New Orleans, Katherine E. Ross, of Baton Rouge, and Vaughn Ross Jr., U.S. Navy; and three great-grandchildren, Brooks and Alden Russell, of New Orleans, and Isla Alexandra Ross, of Baton Rouge. Mrs. Ross was a graduate of Paseo High School, Kansas City, in 1938, and the Kansas City Institute of Art two years later. Her professional career followed the commercial and fashion art path for more than 40 years whereby she drew the newspaper ads for several Baton Rouge area department stores, most notably Godchaux's. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. Ross Sr., and later in life to Richard LeFleur; and two brothers, Charles A. Lee and Edward Lee, who were of Kansas City. Her art and her family were her passions and she will be dearly missed by all.
