Edgar F. Goza, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the age of 97. He was born on July 29, 1927, to Honor Elizabeth Goodrich and Edgar F. Goza, Sr. He was a resident of Denham Springs, LA. Some called him Daddy, Grandpa, Godly, Kind, Gentle, Uncle and Surrogate father. Many looked up to him and turned to him for advice and guidance.
Ed retired from Ethel Corporation. He loved woodworking, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family. Ed was a long-time member of Florida Blvd. Baptist Church and a current member of First Baptist Church Denham Springs. He was also a member of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana F. & A.M. and the American Legion.
Ed is survived by his children, Jerry Goza (Nona) of Dallas, TX, Duane Goza (Cathy) of Watson, LA, Linda Goza Williams Daigle (Bruce) of Denham Springs, LA,; grandchildren, Christy McGehee (Rod), Darren Goza, Kori Goza (Josh), Heather Gaudin (Michael), Sarah Robinson (Kaleb), Dylan Goza (Lauren), Kelly Crothers (Daniel), Frank Williams (Elizabeth), and Allan Williams (Jennifer); 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Barker Goza; sons, Harold Dennis Goza, and Ronald W. Goza; parents, Honor Elizabeth and Edgar Goza, Sr.; sisters, Bessie West Lea, Edwina Goza Gallagher, Katherine Goza Connell, and Carolyn Goza Ensign.
Pallbearers are Darren Goza, Frank Williams, Allan Williams, Dylan Goza, Jude McGehee, and Daniel Crothers. Honorary pallbearers are Rod McGehee, Michael Gaudin, Kaleb Robinson, Mason Columbia, and Collin Columbia.
Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 1pm until the time of funeral services at 2pm. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
