A kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dot went home to the mansion prepared for her by her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014. Dot, a native of Meadville, MS, was born Oct. 25, 1921. She was a homemaker and member of Riverside Baptist Church in Watson, LA. Survived by son, Gary (April) Magee; “adopted son” Bill (Carmen) Rhymes; grandsons, Darrin (Beth) Magee, Jesse (Amie) Magee, and Billy (Brooke) Rhymes; granddaughters, Jenny (Kevin) Smith, Molly Magee, Shannon (John) Wheeler and Ashley (Gary) Haindel. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Rowan, Linnea & Calla Magee, Alex Smith, Catherine McCants & Sam Wheeler, and Joseph & Aaron Haindel. Preceded in death by her groom of 66 years, Jessie Decatur Magee, and first born son, Kenneth Wendell Magee; parents, Luther and Adelia Hutto; four brothers and two sisters. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 11AM until funeral service at 2PM, conducted by Rev. Jim Nichols. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Darrin & Jesse Magee, Billy Rhymes, Jenny Smith, Molly Magee, Shannon Wheeler & Ashley Haindel. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Landmark of Baton Rouge for the loving care given to Dot for the last five years.
