Donna Gayle Forbes Borne

"Donna Gayle Forbes Borne spread her wings and flew to be with our Lord, her husband, and two children Sunday evening, February 2, 2020. She was a native of Central, La. and a current resident of Jarreau, La. She was born on October 9, 1953, graduated from Central High School in 1971 then began her career as a commercial insurance agent and co-owner of Borne Plumbing, Inc. with her husband, Johnny Borne. She battled with health issues most her life but amazingly stood strong to be a caregiver to her entire family only to face the heartache of losing not only her parents, but her husband and both children way too early in life. She was a source of inspiration and strength to all who knew her. She loved doing for others, loved to cook, and enjoyed making memories on False River with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Tracey Lynn Borne; grandchildren: Bryson James Borne and Brennan Joseph Borne; newly born great-granddaughter, Brette Jo Borne; and future granddaughter-in-law, Destinee R. White; sister and brother-in-law, Sherryl Forbes Nye and Ronnie Nye; brother and sister-in-law, David Forbes and Brenda M. Forbes; sisters and brothers-in-law: Nancy Borne Lato, Judy Borne Davidson, Nannette Borne, Leonce Cesaire Borne, Jr. (Ouncy), and William R. Borne (Rusty); numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with her special friends: June Plauche and Brenda and Jerry Landry. She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Borne, Sr. (Johnny); sons: Jeremy Heath Borne and John H. Borne, Jr. (JJ); parents and in-laws: Bobbye Joyce Hodgeson Forbes and Harold B. Forbes, Leonce Cesaire Borne, Sr. and Belle Humphreys Borne. The family would like to extend a special appreciation to her great friends and neighbors, Patricia Magee and Wayne Jarreau, for being there to check in on her and lend a hand whenever needed. Serving as Pallbearers will be Brennan Borne, Bryson Borne, Tre' McMillan, Tommy Davidson, Jay Robertson, and Brandon Hobgood. Please join our family in honoring her memory with a visitation on Friday, February 7, 2020, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 11:00am until funeral service at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory on Jefferson Hwy.
