Donald Angelo Levatino born February 18, 1942. Donald got a rebirth at 80 years of age living with his daughter Mindy and son-in-law Philip. He was ever grateful for spending the last 2.5 years them. Donald gained his eternal reward on December 8, 2024 surrounded by his daughter Mindy, son-in-law Philip, and granddaughters Pearl & Raelyn.
Donald was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and Southeastern Louisiana University where he excelled at boxing, pole vaulting, and weight lifting. He proudly served in the US Coast Guard as a PO1 Petty Officer First Class Engineman. He was employed by Michoud Assembly Facility and Exxon Refinery before beginning a 50-year career with Dayton Heating and Air, the company his father opened in 1946. Donald was the definition of an avid sportsman who enjoyed traveling around the world to shoot, hunt, and fish. He also was an ‘off the charts’ health and wellness advocate.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Angelo and Josie Degrstino Levatino, Baby Boy Levatino, grandparents Angelo and Vita Levatino and James and Lena Degrstino.
He is survived by his children Mindy Levatino Patteson (Philip), Michael Champagne, and Michelle Champagne Lynam (Sean). Siblings Dr Samuel Levatino, Frankie Levatino, and Vicki Levatino Mouch (Kenneth). Grandchildren Pearl and Raelyn Patteson, Taylor and Cameron Champagne, and Benjamin, Jane, Sarah, and Isabella Lynam. Two godchildren Brady Mouch and Vita Levatino Pagnani. He is also survived by his former wife, JoAnn Vince Levatino.
Services will be at St Patrick Church on 12424 Brogdon Lane in Baton Rouge on Friday December 13, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:30am to 10:45am. Tribute and mass will begin at 10:45am. Reception to follow services. He will be laid to rest at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Philip Patteson, Michael Champagne, Brady Mouch, Gavin Gauthreaux, Donnie Floyd, and Rick Musso. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony (Tony) Vaccaro.

Additionally, we’re forever grateful to his medical team of Dr Samuel Levatino, Dr Jonathan Weldon, Dr William Varnado, Dr Andrew McCall, Dr Henry Barham, Dr Luke Corsten, Dr Aimee Shannon, and Dr Joseph Albergamo who also helped give Donald his rebirth at 80 years of age.
He was an exceptionally talented human being that experienced unbelievable world travels, success, and life events. He was well-loved on earth and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
