Dominic L. "Donny" Polito

Mr. Polito was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He was a 1965 graduate of Catholic High School where he played football and baseball and attended LSU. He served in the Army National Guard. He retired from East Baton Rouge Parish Assessor’s office and owned Polito Land Title, LLC. He was an avid golfer, proud Italian (the good kind), jokester and loved spending time with his twin grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony L. “Brother” Polito and Rose Lee Phistry Polito.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Devra Van Osdell Polito of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter, Donlyn Polito of Denham Springs, LA; two grandsons, Dominic and Zachary Polito of Denham Springs, LA; sisters, Toni Polito Baird of Pride, LA, Rosalind Polito (Kathleen) of Spring, TX and Judy Polito Catoire of Prairieville, LA; brother, Anthony Polito, Jr. (Kathy) of Baton Rouge, LA; sister-in-law, Bonnie Van Osdell Smith (JJ) of Greenwell Springs, LA; special friends “brothers”, Mack Truluck, Eddie LeBlanc and Anthony J. Marabella; nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Mike Kaufman, Justin Smith, Anthony J. Marabella, Jr., Eddie LeBlanc, Mack Truluck and Matthew Polito.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Greenoaks Funeral Home-9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815. Services will be at 10:00am Friday, August 3, 2018 at Greenoaks Funeral Home Chapel where friends may visit from 9:00am to service time. Interment will follow services at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
