David Michael Grouchy II

David Michael Grouchy II passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at the age of 56. He was born and lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. David, or Mike as his oldest friends and his family knew him, was a kind-hearted, creative, and imaginative wonder who was cherished as a son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. David was a philosopher and an historian.

David is survived by his mother Maggie Dijkstra, father David Grouchy, and stepfather, Jan Dijkstra; siblings include, Mark Grouchy (Janelle Grouchy), Cathy Breaux (Michael Breaux), Steven Grouchy, Rebecca Grouchy, Brad Roberts, Ellen Davis, and Paul Roberts; uncles, Frank Grouchy and John Plauche; niece and nephew Megan and Garrett Breaux (children of Cathy and Michael Breaux), and his God-daughter and niece Kaylin Grouchy, and nieces Brianne Grouchy, Alexa Grouchy, Braelyn Grouchy, and nephew Frank Denny (children of Mark and Janelle Grouchy).

Preceded in death by his stepmother, Janet Grouchy, Aunt Mary Ann Grouchy, Uncle “Sonny” Carroll Grouchy, Aunt Lorraine Plauche Hansen, and Uncle Gerald “Jerry” Hansen.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA., Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 12:00pm until graveside service at 1:00pm.
