Colleen Moore Templet, a resident of Baton Rouge for 76 years, "went to heaven, a shoutin" on December 2, 2023. She was born on February 5, 1935 in Wyatt, Louisiana. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Alton Joseph Templet, her children, Sharon Templet Colomb, and Wendell Alton Templet, and grandchildren, Sarah Templet Vorhies, Loren Templet Stanton, Victoria Seychelles Colomb and Elizabeth Colomb Carruth. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Lillian Joy Vorhies, Randall Mark "Rand" Stanton, III, Judah James Vorhies, Evangeline Jane Vorhies, Miles Joseph Stanton and Malachi Lanis Carruth. Colleen is also survived by her brother, Randolph "Randy" Howard Moore, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Wendell Moore and Norma Weeks Moore and by her sister, Reba Moore Carr and her brother, Edward Allen Moore. She attended Istrouma High School through the middle of her senior year, when she married Alton, who was in the service at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumpter, South Carolina. She graduated from Edmonds High School in Sumpter. Colleen lovingly served her Lord from childhood. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and led a breakfast club that visited shut-ins. She loved to paint, read and GO! (Her family called her "Colleen Go Moore.") She and Alton traveled to all fifty states, went heli-hiking in Canada, and took cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. She also went on "girl's trips" with some of her best friends for many years. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 10:00-12:00, followed by a memorial service at Fellowship Baptist Church, 14512 Greenwell Springs Road, Greenwell Springs, LA 70739. In lieu of flowers, it was Colleen's wish that donations be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe.
