Beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt and friend, Cherry passed away at her home on February 14, 2013. She was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She retired from South Central Bell in 1988 and was active in their retirement organization, the Pioneers. She served as the President of the Capitol Council Pioneers in 2000. She was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church and performed volunteer work through the church. Survived by her husband of sixty years, Bobby Hilborn; son, Robert Hilborn and daughter-in-law Jan; daughter, Janet Hall; and three grandchildren, Amber Hall, Andrew and Michael Hilborn. Survived by sisters, Jeanette Jenkins, Dorothy Howell and Judy Cutrer; brothers, Jack and Hebron Cutrer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; June and Ruby Cutrer; two brothers, June and John Cutrer; and an infant brother, Willie. Cherry was a caregiver at heart. She was a wonderful cook and baker who loved cooking holiday meals for her family and friends. Cherry always made people feel welcome in her home. She was selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was loving and generous. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. on Sunday, February 17, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and will continue at Broadmoor United Methodist Church the following morning from 10:00 am until services at 11:00 am. Services will be conducted by the Reverend Ken Carroll. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Services of Baton Rouge.
