Charles Louis McKnight, 86, born on Jan. 23, 1921, in Clinton, and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away in Covington on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, of congestive heart failure. He was the husband of the late Mildred Brown McKnight and son of the late Adolphus and Clara McKnight. He was the beloved father and father-in-law of Charlotte M. Williams and Frederick I. Williams, and the late Judith Marie McKnight, grandfather of Thomas L. Raborn, his wife, Lisa Raborn, and Richard H. Raborn, his wife, Cindy Raborn, stepgrandfather of Leanne W. Schaefer, her husband, Joel Schaefer, Michael F. Williams, his wife, Rebecca Williams, and Melissa W. Juarez and her husband, Javier Juarez, great-grandfather of Tyler Raborn, Casey Raborn and London Raborn, and stepgreat-grandfather of Jake Williams, Sydney Williams and Arian Juarez. Also preceded in death by his siblings, Alton McKnight, T. Odis McKnight, Shirley McKnight, Lillie Daigle and Carrie Mae McCrory. Mr. McKnight was a retired foreman from Albemarle Corp., formerly known as Ethyl Corp., and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II during the battle at Okinawa, Japan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service Saturday, Jan. 26, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service at noon.
