Carol A. Thibodeaux

She was born to Joseph and Victoria Roppolo and was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She is a proud graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy and a retired employee of Coldwell Banker Mackey Company.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Donald Thibodeaux; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Robert Adams, Renee and Kevin Brian; six grandchildren, Bradley Brian and wife Taylor, Victoria Brian Simmons and husband Hunter, Meredith Adams, Patrick Brian, Danielle Adams, and Claire Adams; sister and brother-in-law Lena and John Accomando; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Angel Thibodeaux, who was born into the arms of the angels, her parents, Joseph and Victoria DeJohn Roppolo, one sister, Mary Roppolo DeLaune, four brothers, Victor Joseph (VJ), Lawrence, Harry, and her twin brother Salvadore (Sammy) Roppolo.

She was especially proud of her Italian heritage and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. Carol enjoyed life, always had a positive outlook, had a prayerful relationship with the Blessed Mother, and treasured quality time with her family and friends.

The family wishes to sincerely thank all of the doctors and medical professionals that cared for Carol, especially her family physician, Dr. Douglas Say and her caregiver Ashley Tucker, who lovingly cared for her for the last three years. The family also wishes to express their tremendous gratitude and love to Rose Marie and Jimmie Powell for their weekly breakfast visits, her special friends, Pat Austin, Claire Bergeron, Nellie Broussard, and daughter Renee Brian with whom she shared coffee, biscotti, and laughter every weekday at 4:00pm, and to all of her friends who kept in touch throughout the years and brought joy to her life.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Monday, October 29, 2018, from 5:30pm-8:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 10:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial conducted by Father Michael Alello at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
