"Bertrand "Bert" Bazerque IV passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Baton Rouge at the age of 55. He was born December 26, 1961, in Crowley, LA, and grew up Shreveport, Florida, and Baton Rouge. He graduated from Broadmoor High School and attended USL in Lafayette and college in Florida. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Valencia; an aunt, Cynthia Suire and her husband J.C. Suire; and cousins: Kelly Jo Suire, Wendy and Mark Stackable of Michigan, and Nancy, David, and Noah Lee of Houston, TX. He has a half-sister, Lory and half-brother Mike, who live in South Carolina; and a stepmother, Beverly Bazerque. He is also survived by an aunt and uncle, John and Annette Duhon, and a niece and nephews Maria, Philip and John Duhon and family in Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his father, Bertrand Bazerque III and his younger brother, Kirk Edward Bazerque. Visiting will be on Monday, August 7, 2017, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, from 9am until service at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Bert was a professional musician who toured in several rock bands in the 1980s and 1990s.
