Barbara Ann Sevier, a native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA and Jarreau, LA, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at the age of 88. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Fire Chief Oliver Sevier and Carmen LeJeune; brothers, Leonard, Glenn and Ronald Sevier; sisters, Madel Galloway (Billy) and Carmen Daigle (George); and lifelong friend, Nelwyn Greer. She is survived by her siblings, Alton Sevier (Ruby), Linda Zerangue (Tim), Ricky Sevier (Cheri) and David Sevier (Susan); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. After 30 years of service, she retired from the State of Louisiana as the Head of Licensing for the Insurance Commissioner’s Office. Barbara was an avid LSU fan, and a versatile athlete playing softball, basketball and golf. She was a Club Champion of local and regional golf clubs. She loved life and traveled extensively, following LSU sports, as well as exploring the USA. Barbara Ann was a beloved daughter who honored her father and mother and helped in any way she could. She was a sister who helped and taught her siblings by example, and was a friend willing to help and do anything she could to solve a problem or to ease the pains and struggles of life. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, July 12, 2021, from 10:00AM until the time of funeral services at 12:00PM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
