Ronald David Witt

Mr. Witt is survived by his wife, Faye Lawless Witt of the home; Son, David Christopher Witt and his wife, Judy Avin Witt; Granddaughter Samantha Faith Witt of Bassett.

Mr. Witt graduated from John D. Bassett High School in 1962 and attended National Business College in Roanoke, VA. He was a member of Fuller Memorial Baptist Church in Martinsville where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He worked at Winn Dixie and retired from Dupont with 20 years of service. On March 27, 2015 Ronald and Faye celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Collins Funeral Home and will be officiated by Reverend Robert Breckenridge and Reverend Bonnylee Witt . The visitation will held on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Herman Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

The family expresses their appreciation to all of Mr. Witt’s caregivers that have helped with his care at home since 2014, especially to Mary Dishmon, Amanda Shively, Tonya Fleagle and Sandra Clifton.
