 Obituario de Ray Dean Frith
Ray Dean Frith, age 93 of the Oak Level Community, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023. He was born on November 17, 1929 to the late C. Taylor Frith and Grace Byrd Frith. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 67 ½ years, Violet Turner Frith, an infant brother, C. Taylor Frith, Jr. and a brother-in-law, H. Garry Barrow. He was a graduate of Bassett High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VA Tech). Ray served in the U.S. Army in Korea. After leaving the Army, he spent his career at Frith Construction Company, retiring as President of the Company. He loved his family and enjoyed playing golf as often as he could. He was a man of few words and there was not anything that he came upon that he could not figure out how to do. Ray was a founding member of the Oak Level Ruritan Club, an organization he dearly loved and cherished his friendships with other members. Ray is survived by his two beloved children, Lance D. Frith and Marie F. Anderson, one granddaughter, Alexandra S. Anderson, two sisters, Hazel B. Frith and Nellie F. Barrow, two brothers, Jesse N. Frith (Joan), and Jack B. Frith (Susan), several nieces and nephews and Ray’s “Angels” his caregivers, Nancy Hairston, Brenda King and Tabatha Minnick. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Oak Level Baptist Church with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Collins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Level Ruritan Club, Oak Level Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
