George Abraham Craig, age 83 of, of Henry County passed away Monday, December 2, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents; Harry Craig and Molly Reynolds Craig; sisters, Frances Fretwell, Mildred Griffin and Lucille Rakes; brothers, Edward (killed in Korea while serving his country), James Elgin Craig, Jimmy Craig, Russell Craig, Darrell Craig and Ronnie Craig; granddaughter, Khrystal Craig.
He is survived by his loving wife Katherine Oliver Craig of 59 years; daughter, Tammy Adams (Mike); son, Kenny Craig (Jennifer); grandsons, Brian Adams (Diana), Austin (Brittany) and Cody; Great Grandchildren, Michael, Isabella, Kassandra, Jonathan, Devin, Alex, Abby, Isabel, Adaline, and Cheyenne; brothers, Carlton, Roger, Ramey and Terry; sisters, Brenda and Janice along with many nieces and nephews.
George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. He retired as a truck driver after 30 years. He had many hobbies, such as, fishing, hunting, gardening, bowling and most importantly mowing grass. He had a beloved dog (Siberian Husky) named Echo that he enjoyed spoiling.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Drive, Bassett, VA with Reverend Lew Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow in the Mt. Hermon Brethren Church Cemetery.
