In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Fulcher Rorrer and brother, S. Wayne Fulcher.
He is survived by his wife Avis R. Fulcher just recently celebrating 65 years of marriage; three sons, Mark D. Fulcher of Bassett, Barry D. Fulcher and wife, Candy of Bassett, and John Pete Fulcher and wife, Mandye of Radford; two granddaughters, Jessica F. Tunnell (Logan) of Bassett; Meadow F. Sexton (Nate) of Bassett; one step grandson, Cody Kitts (Kyra) of Radford; one great grandson, Bellamy Brooks Tunnell of Bassett that brought a smile to his face on every visit; and many nieces and nephews.
Pete was a graduate of Fieldale High School and a very active member of Fort Trial Baptist Church. He loved his church and over the years served as deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher, and served on numerous committees. He retired from Fieldcrest Mills after 46 years as a loom fixer. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and the National Guard for two years. Additionally, Pete was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, woodworker, furniture maker, outdoors man, and could fix just about anything. He shared the surplus from his garden each Sunday with the members of Fort Trial Baptist.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Fort Trial Baptist Church of Stanleytown, Virginia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Fort Trial Baptist Church with Reverend Tony Beach and Dr. Joey McNeill. Interment will be at a later date at Henry Memorial Park, Bassett, Virginia.
