He was born on August 8, 1940 in Peoria, IL to Leland and Arlene (Cheshier) Ledbetter. He married Betty Latham on April 14, 1972 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2003. Also preceding him in death were parents; one brother, Ed Ledbetter; a sister, Norma Jean Ledbetter Brown and a step-son, Barry Latham.
Surviving are his two sons, Bryan Ledbetter of IL, Brett Ledbetter of Peoria Heights, a step-son, Denny Latham of Washington; two brothers, Roger (Garnet) Ledbetter of Peoria and Tony (Regina) Ledbetter of Bartonville, and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne held various jobs through the years including owning a restaurant and working as a Carpenter before retiring. He enjoyed watching stock car races, Nascar, traveling and was a member of the Carpenters Union.
A graveside service will be 2 pm on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Cottonwood Cemetery near Hanna City. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in Charge of arrangements. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
