Charlie was born on November 20, 1947 in Peoria, to Pete and Mary (Roberson) DeRoss. He married Pamela S. Huntley on September 16, 1967 in Bartonville. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2019.
Also preceding him in death are his parents, one brother, and one sister.
He is survived by his daughters, Tia (Matt) Bragg of Bartonville, and Tory (Doug Kaufmann) Graves of Bartonville; his grandchildren, Brittany (Molly) Dunn, Bryce (Jordan) Graves, Dylan Bragg, and Keegan Bragg; his 6 great-grandchildren; and the treasure of his life, his dog Sophie.
Charlie attended Richwoods High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. A Vietnam Veteran, he was chosen to go to school in the Philippines to serve in the Secret Service.
He worked for Pabst Brewing Company for several years until the plant closed down, and went on to work for Limestone High School until his retirement.
Charlie had a passion for music. He loved to play the guitar, and was in a band for many years known as the Blue Ribbon Rhythm Band. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and NASCAR.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.
