Geraldine Grace Jarrett, 86, died at Midnight Friday, Sept. 27, 2024 at her home in Palm Coast, FL.
Born August 7, 1938, in Glasford IL., to August and Alice Geier. Gerri was a Twin to her “older” sister, Bernie. She loved her family, sewing, quilting and looking after the neighborhood kids.
Gerri married James D. Jarrett on Nov. 15, 1958. They were blessed with 6 children, Ricky, Mark, James M., Randy, Terry and Anita.
Gerri was a mother & housewife most of her adult life, but did retire from Kroger, in Bartonville, IL. after all her children left home to join the military.
She was an avid reader and an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, serving as a choir member for several years. Other activities included bowling leagues with friends, shopping and doing anything with family.
Gerri is survived by 5 of her children, Ricky (Ruth Ann) of Bossier City, LA, James M (Jennifer) of Bloomfield, KY, Randy of Newalla, OK, Terry of Glasford, IL and Anita (Kerry) McKinnon of Palm Coast, FL; her brothers, Ray Geier (Alice Carrier) and Ronald (Ardith) Geier; also a brother-in-law, James Williamson; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James D.; a son, Mark; two sisters, Agnes Geier and Bernadine Williamson; brother, Karl Geier; three sisters-in-law, Peggy Jarrett-Jackolvitz, Loretta Geier and Norma Grebner; and two brothers-in-law, Wayne Jarrett and Walter Grebner.
Gerri will be remembered for being a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Also, for her willingness to help anyone and everyone she could, and her loyalty to her friends.
Gerri's visitation will be on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Her funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville with a visitation one hour prior to the mass. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Canton immediately following the funeral mass.
