Gene Allen Griffith

Gene A. Griffith, 90, of Bartonville, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at UnityPoint Health - Proctor in Peoria. He was born on June 17, 1932, a son of George and Emma (Hanelt) Griffith. Gene married Joyce A. Goodin on July 3, 1954 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2004 in Peoria.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one brother.

Gene is survived by his two daughters, Linda Robley and Sally Emmons, both of Bartonville; two granddaughters, Linda and April; two grandsons, Rodney and Allyn; and seven great-grandchildren, Brenden, Morgen, Renee, Landon, Jackson, Charlie, and Kaleb. He adored his grandchildren.

He served his country in the United States Air Force.

Gene worked in the galvanizing department for Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville. He was a member of the Limestone American Legion Post #979 and the Pekin Moose Lodge #916.

He loved to fish, play cards, golf, and especially spend time with family and friends.

Gene's graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin with full military honors. Chaplain Scot Shelburne will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
