Margarito Perez

Margarito Perez, 84 went to be with our Lord on July 11, 2017. Born July 20, 1932 in Bartlett Texas, Margarito and his 2 younger brothers grew up helping on the family farm. In December 26, 1953, Margarito and Maria Ofelia Cortez were married in Bartlett, Tx. Their lifelong-marriage, relationship with the church and family demonstrated his love for God and a life that was led with strong Christian values at home and work. He co-owned Bartlett Meat Market with his brother Urbano and later began working with Ralph Wilson Plastics where he retired in June 1994. Margarito had a love for his family, friends and all who entered his life. He continued to energetically enjoy his retirement and included favorite pastimes with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His optimistic love for life will always hold a special place in the hearts of his family& friends.

Margarito was preceded in death by his father and mother, Francisco and Juanita Perez, stepmother Petra Perez all of Bartlett and granddaughter D’Onna Destiny Powell and son-in-law Oscar W. Smith.

Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Maria Ofelia, children Mary Ester of Killeen,Tx.Diana(Billy Barton) of Moffat, Martin(Sonia) of Davilla, Reynaldo(Brenda), Patricia(Bernard S. Luna) all of Bartlett, and 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm on July 14 at Goodnight Funeral Home, Bartlett, TX

Mass at 10 am on July 15 at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, TX. With burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery
