Doug was born in West Ridge, Arkansas on August 27, 1942 to the late Winfred and Lula Mae Nash. He graduated from White Station High School in Memphis, Tennessee and later attended Draughon’s Business College and the University of Memphis. After completing his education, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and was self-employed in sales doing jewelry retail tradeshows and exhibits nationwide. He enjoyed playing golf and going to the movies. In his later years, he loved shooting pool with his friends at the Bartlett Recreation Center, but his main passion was spreading the gospel of Jesus and witnessing to all about his faith in the Lord.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Winfred Douglas Nash, Jr. Doug leaves behind his beloved wife of 32 years, Virginia Thornton Nash; his two children, Deidra Nash Wiener (Don), Melita Ellington (Brian); five grandchildren, Marilyn and Morgan Wiener, Madelyn and Emma Nash, and Corey Sims; and great-grandsons, Ethen and Devien Sims; his niece, Nikki Aaron; nephews, Slade Nash and James Langston; his daughter in law Jennifer Nash; his brother Jesse Nash; his half siblings, Ronnie and Danny Langston, Alice Pickrell and Kay McKenzie; step-children, Chris Crump, Sherry Crump, Angela Edwards (Gary), Stan Pebsworth (Lee); step-grandchildren, Blake, Aidan, Jordan, Gabe, Katie, Melanie, Stacia, Christopher, Ashley, Emily, Susan, Kim; and 12 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister in law, Wanda Windham.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be sent to Faith Baptist Church.
Family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Friday, July 26 at Faith Baptist Church 3755 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. A memorial service will follow at 1:00pm.
